Man Arrested in Jerusalem for Allegedly Attempting to Murder Brother
Israeli police announced Sunday the arrest of a 28-year-old man suspected of attempting to murder his brother by intentionally throwing him into a garbage dumpster in Jerusalem's Gilo neighborhood. The incident occurred Saturday, requiring emergency and rescue forces to work for over an hour to extract the victim from the container. The victim, who suffers from a psychological disability, was transported to the hospital in moderate condition.
Investigators from the Moriah station in the Jerusalem district gathered evidence and recordings that strengthened suspicions of a deliberate act. Based on the investigation's findings, police arrested the suspect on suspicion of attempted murder. He was scheduled to appear before the Jerusalem Magistrate's Court on Sunday to consider a request for his extended detention and the continuation of the investigation.
