Man Arrested for Allegedly Trying to Murder Brother by Trapping Him in Trash Bin
A 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempting to murder his brother, who was found trapped inside a buried trash bin in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Gilo. Emergency services rescued the victim from the bin and transported him to the hospital in moderate condition.
Investigators suspect that the victim, who reportedly struggles with mental health issues, asked to be placed inside the trash bin. His two brothers allegedly accompanied him, helped him enter the bin, closed it, and then left the scene.
Police from the Moriah station launched an investigation, collecting evidence and reviewing documentation. Based on the findings, one of the brothers, aged 28, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. The second brother, a minor, was not arrested.
The suspect is currently being questioned, and authorities are expected to request an extension of his detention at the Jerusalem Magistrate's Court today.
