Netanyahu Declares Overthrowing Iran's Regime as Israel's Main Mission

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated on Thursday his conviction that Israel can overthrow the Iranian regime, describing it as his government's primary remaining mission and one that is "close and within reach." Netanyahu made these remarks during a ceremony marking the Hebrew New Year at the Ministry of Defense in Tel Aviv, attended by Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi.

Netanyahu asserted that Iran's current regime is "staggering and weaker than ever, fighting for survival," and that recent years have seen "historic achievements" that have bolstered Israel's ability to counter Iranian threats. He emphasized that confronting Tehran will remain a top priority for his government.

He further elaborated that the primary objective moving forward is the removal of the Iranian regime, expressing confidence in the capabilities of the Israeli military and security services to achieve this goal. "I am convinced of our ability to remove this threat permanently, that is, to overthrow this regime, and this is the main mission that still lies before us, but it is close, not impossible, but within reach," Netanyahu declared.

Addressing Iran directly, Netanyahu issued a warning: "Do not mess with us. We have the strength, the determination, and the internal unity to overcome you." He linked this message to Israeli societal unity and the security forces' operational capacity, praising soldiers, pilots, and home front personnel.

Concurrent with Netanyahu's statements, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant threatened a "wide response" to any Iranian attack, stating Israel would retaliate forcefully and that the air force is prepared for new operations. These exchanges reflect escalating tensions between Israel and Iran.

Netanyahu's speech also contained messages for the Israeli public, highlighting security achievements and the importance of internal unity. He stressed that strength, determination, and unity are crucial for facing future challenges and projected his government's ability to manage regional threats, with Iran at the forefront.
