Netanyahu Declares Regime Change in Iran as Israel's Next Goal

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated on Thursday that the "central mission" facing Israel is to bring about the downfall of the Iranian regime. Speaking at a Rosh Hashanah toast event in Tel Aviv, attended by Defense Minister Israel Katz, IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi, and members of the General Staff Forum, Netanyahu asserted that Iran's regime is "weaker than ever" and "fighting for its life."

Netanyahu highlighted Israel's "historic achievements" over the past three years of the "War of Independence" and subsequent operations, "Roaring Lion" and "With a Lion's Heart," claiming these efforts have pushed back existential threats, including Iran's nuclear ambitions. He expressed confidence in Israel's military capabilities and the resilience of the Israeli people to overcome remaining threats.

"This regime is currently faltering. It is weaker than ever. It is fighting for its life," Netanyahu said, adding, "I am convinced of our ability to remove this threat once and for all. That is, to topple this regime. This is the main mission that still lies before us, but it is close. It is not impossible. It is within reach."

He also noted that Iran's adversaries, while attacked by Tehran, are not directly targeted by Iran, implying an acknowledgment of Israel's strength. "They know our power, the might of our arm, and our determination," Netanyahu stated, issuing a warning to Israel's enemies: "If you have learned anything, do not mess with us."

Netanyahu concluded by wishing the Israeli people strength, determination, and internal unity for the coming year.
