Netanyahu Warns Iran: Regime Change Is Within Reach
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued an unprecedented warning to Iran during a Rosh Hashanah toast with Defense Minister Israel Katz, IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir, and the General Staff Forum at the Kirya in Tel Aviv. Netanyahu stated that the Iranian regime is currently faltering and weaker than ever, fighting for its survival.
He asserted that historical achievements made during the "war of return" and since operations "Lion's Roar" and "With a Lion" have secured Israel's continued existence. Netanyahu emphasized that Israel has distanced itself from existential threats, including Iran's nuclear ambitions and its desire to annihilate the Jewish state.
"I am convinced of our ability, of the ability of our heroic soldiers, our heroic pilots, and our entire system, including the home front and our strong people," Netanyahu declared. "I am convinced of our ability to remove this threat once and for all. That is, to topple this regime. This is the main mission still before us, but it is close. It is not impossible. It is within reach."
The Prime Minister noted that Iran's restraint in attacking Israel directly stems from an awareness of Israel's strength and determination. He concluded with a message to Israel's enemies: "Do not mess with us. If you have learned anything, do not mess with us. We have the strength, the determination, and the internal unity to overcome you, and that is what I wish the people of Israel in the coming year, in the near future. Happy New Year to you."
