Three Border Police Officers Injured in Violence at Palestinian Village

Three Border Police officers sustained light injuries overnight Monday during violent incidents in the Palestinian village of Jalud, located in the Samaria region. According to the IDF and police, over 100 Israelis gathered in the village, blocking roads, burning tires, and throwing stones at security forces. The IDF reported that Palestinian structures and vehicles were set ablaze during the unrest.

IDF and Border Police forces were deployed to Jalud to disperse the Israeli crowd and protect local residents as a Palestinian family was being escorted back to their home. The IDF stated that the family's return was not completed due to the disturbances. During the clashes, Palestinian buildings and vehicles were damaged or destroyed, and security forces' vehicles also sustained damage.

The police have opened an investigation into the events and arrested an 18-year-old suspect from Jerusalem, whose vehicle was seized. Two minors, aged 15 and 17, who were initially detained by the IDF, were transferred to police custody for questioning. Police found items such as face coverings and a baton in the suspect's vehicle, which investigators believe link him to the events.

Investigators from the Judea and Samaria district police, along with the Shin Bet security agency and forensic experts, are continuing to gather evidence and take statements from the scene. The security establishment condemned the attacks on security personnel and the vandalism, stating that such incidents undermine the stability and operational effectiveness of security forces.
