Over 100 Israelis Riot in Samaria, Injuring Border Police Officers
Over 100 Israelis rioted in the Palestinian village of Jalud in Samaria overnight Monday, setting property ablaze and throwing stones at security forces. Three Border Police officers sustained light injuries during the violent incident. The IDF stated that the rioters blocked roads, burned tires, and threw stones at security personnel, also setting fire to Palestinian homes, vehicles, and other property.
The IDF and Border Police were present in the village as part of an operation to allow a Palestinian family to return to their home, from which they had been forced to leave due to nationalist crime incidents. However, the family's return was not completed due to the riots.
Two suspects were arrested during the confrontation and handed over to the Judea and Samaria District Police for investigation. Police investigators and forensic units are expected to enter the scene later, secured by the IDF, to collect evidence and testimonies.
Security officials condemned the events, stating they "distract attention, undermine stability, and harm the defense and counter-terrorism activities of the security forces."
