Three Israelis Arrested Following Violence Near Palestinian Village

Three Israelis were arrested following violent incidents that occurred near the Palestinian village of Jalud in the West Bank on Monday night into Tuesday. The Israeli military (IDF) initially detained two teenagers, aged 15 and 17, one from northern Israel and the other from the Binyamin region, and handed them over to police for questioning. A third suspect, an 18-year-old from Jerusalem, was subsequently arrested. During a search of his vehicle, authorities discovered items including ski masks and a baton, which they believe link him to the events. His vehicle, along with a second car suspected of being used by those involved, was seized.

The arrests took place while the IDF and border police were attempting to escort a Palestinian family back to their home in Jalud. The army stated that the family had been forced to leave their residence due to previous acts of violence. The operation to return the family was ultimately unsuccessful.

According to the IDF, over 100 Israeli rioters blocked roads, set tires ablaze, and threw stones at security forces. Palestinian-owned buildings, vehicles, and other property were also set on fire. Three border police officers sustained minor injuries, and a security forces vehicle was damaged.

Police, the Shin Bet security agency, and forensic investigators are collecting evidence and testimonies at the scene, under IDF protection. President Isaac Herzog condemned the violence, calling it a "moral stain" and urging that perpetrators be brought to justice.
