Man Kills Yeshiva Student in Hit-and-Run After Argument
A young yeshiva student, Amihai Attia, from the settlement of Itamar, was killed in a hit-and-run incident in Hadera after an altercation with a commercial vehicle driver. Attia had arrived in Hadera to attend a Selichot prayer service.
A confrontation erupted between worshippers and the driver, who had arrived to unload merchandise. The driver, feeling threatened by an angry crowd, fled the scene in his vehicle, striking and killing Attia in the process.
Following an investigation by the police and the Shin Bet, any nationalistic motive for the incident has been ruled out. The driver is now facing charges of leaving the scene of an accident and endangering human life.
