Teenager Killed in Hit-and-Run After Religious Event in Hadera

A 17-year-old Israeli boy, Amichai Attia, was killed late last night after being struck by a vehicle near a mass Selichot prayer service in Hadera. Attia, a resident of the settlement of Itamar and a student at the Hitzim Yeshiva, had attended the event with other students. He was in the parking area when a driver from the Arab village of Mandah, reportedly speeding, hit him. Attia was critically injured and later pronounced dead. Police are investigating the incident, which occurred near the religious gathering organized by the Olga Yeshiva and the Hadera Municipality.

Attia is survived by his parents, Shagit and Yona Attia, and five siblings, including a twin brother. The Samaria Regional Council is providing support to the Attia family, the Itamar community, and the yeshiva students. The Itamar community expressed deep sorrow over the loss of Attia, describing him as a beloved, values-driven, and vibrant young man who was a significant figure among the local youth and an active counselor.
