Teenager Fatally Struck by Car After Prayer Event in Hadera

Amichai Attia, a 17-year-old student from the Itamar settlement, was killed after being struck by a vehicle near a prayer event in Hadera. Attia, a 12th-grade student at the Hitzim Yeshiva, had traveled with classmates to the event, which was organized by the Olga Yeshiva in cooperation with the Hadera Municipality.

He was in the parking area adjacent to the event when he was hit by a car driven by a resident of Kafr Mandi. Reports indicate the vehicle was traveling at high speed prior to the collision. Attia was critically injured and later pronounced dead. He is survived by his parents, Shagit and Yonah Attia, and five siblings, including a twin brother.

Attia was remembered by his community as a beloved and active youth leader, deeply involved in local life and highly regarded by his peers. The Itamar community expressed profound grief and shock over the tragic loss of the young man, highlighting his vibrant personality and significant role among the local youth.

Regional Council head Yossi Dagan spoke with the yeshiva administration and Itamar leadership, as well as the mayor of Hadera, to coordinate support for the family and students. Council teams are providing accompaniment to the Attia family, the yeshiva staff, and the students. The investigation into the circumstances of the fatal incident is ongoing, with police yet to release conclusions regarding the sequence of events.
