Teenager Killed in Hit-and-Run After Religious Event in Hadera

A 17-year-old yeshiva student, Amichai Attia, from the settlement of Itamar, was killed in a hit-and-run incident in Hadera on Tuesday night. Attia was with fellow students from the 'Arrows' yeshiva attending a large Selichot (penitential prayers) event. The incident occurred in a parking area near the event, which was organized by the Olga yeshiva in cooperation with the Hadera municipality.

According to reports, the driver, a resident of Kafr Mandi, was allegedly speeding in the parking lot when he struck Attia. The teenager sustained critical injuries and was later pronounced dead. Police are investigating the exact circumstances of the incident.

Amichai Attia, son of Shagit and Yona Attia, is survived by five siblings, including a twin brother. He was described by the Itamar community as a beloved, value-driven, and vibrant young man, a significant figure among the local youth, and an active counselor.

Following the tragedy, Yossi Dagan, head of the Shomron Regional Council, spoke with the yeshiva's director, community leadership, and the mayor of Hadera. The Shomron Council is providing support to the Attia family, the Itamar community, and the yeshiva students. The Itamar community leadership also expressed deep sorrow and pledged to support the bereaved family and Attia's friends.
