Israeli Man, 23, Dies in Paragliding Accident in Colombia
A 23-year-old Israeli man died in a paragliding accident on Thursday while traveling in Colombia. The young man, who had recently completed his military service, was in the city of Bello, near Medellín, when the incident occurred around noon. Initial reports suggest the paraglider lost control shortly after takeoff and crashed into a ravine or wooded slope near the road connecting Medellín to San Pedro de los Milagros.
Local authorities reported strong wind gusts in the area prior to the accident. An investigation is underway to determine if weather conditions contributed to the loss of control. The Colombian instructor piloting the paraglider, identified as Emiliano Muñetón Castro, survived the crash but sustained serious injuries.
