Israeli Tourist Killed in Paragliding Accident in Colombia
A 21-year-old Israeli man from the Sharon region was killed in a paragliding accident on Thursday in San Felix, near the city of Medellin, Colombia. Reports indicate that severe weather conditions caused the paraglider to crash into a forested area. The Israeli tourist died at the scene, while the instructor piloting the paraglider sustained serious injuries.
Following the incident, Israel's Embassy in Colombia and the Department for Israelis Abroad in Distress have been providing support to the victim's family. They are in contact with local authorities to facilitate the repatriation of the body for burial in Israel.
ZAKA's International Unit is also working with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and relevant bodies to expedite the return of the deceased. The accident occurred due to the instructor losing control of the paraglider amidst difficult weather.
