Israeli Tourist Killed in Paragliding Accident in Colombia
A 21-year-old Israeli man from the Sharon region was killed in a paragliding accident in Colombia on Thursday. The incident occurred in the San Felix area, near the city of Medellin, reportedly due to severe weather conditions. According to Colombian media reports, the paragliding instructor lost control, causing the tandem paraglider to crash into a forested area. The Israeli tourist sustained fatal injuries, while the instructor suffered serious wounds.
Israel's Embassy in Colombia and the Department for Israelis Abroad in Distress are providing support to the deceased's family and are in contact with local authorities to arrange for his repatriation and burial in Israel. ZAKA's International Operations division is also working with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and relevant bodies to expedite the return of the body for burial as soon as possible.
