Israeli Reality Star Yakir Levi Dies After Falling From Miami Hotel, Police Investigate

Yakir Levi, a star of the Israeli reality show "The Americans," died after falling from the 28th floor of the Acqualina Hotel in Miami Beach on the night between July 20 and 21, 2026. Miami police are investigating the circumstances of his death, while Israeli police are closely monitoring the case in cooperation with U.S. authorities. Just before his fall, Levi reportedly sent a message to friends waiting for him in the hotel lobby, informing them he was coming down.

Levi's close friend, Itay Merhavi, who had met with him in Israel only a week prior, described the last hours before the incident. Merhavi recounted picking Levi up in Rishon LeZion, visiting Levi's mother, and then going to a hotel in Tel Aviv before Levi traveled to Miami. Friends waiting in the Acqualina Hotel lobby heard a loud noise and were informed someone had fallen from the building, later learning it was Levi.

"The Americans," which aired on Channel 13 in Israel, follows five Israelis who relocated to Los Angeles and built successful careers while maintaining ties to Israel. Levi was among the participants alongside Asaf Belcher, Sigal Style, Lee Alon, and Moses Hakmon.

Levi had shared his personal story of arriving in the U.S. with only $300 and building a multimillion-dollar business through hard work and perseverance. In a December 2025 interview, he spoke about his company specializing in restoring buildings damaged by fires and floods, and his commitment to helping marginalized individuals such as abused women, addicts, and former prisoners by giving them opportunities.

The investigation continues as authorities review hotel surveillance footage and gather more information about the tragic event.
