Israeli Singer Avishai Levi Dies After Car Accident in Jerusalem

Avishai Levi, a 46-year-old Israeli singer and songwriter, died in a tragic car accident in Jerusalem. The incident occurred when Levi exited his vehicle without setting the parking brake, causing the car to roll and trap him underneath. Despite prolonged resuscitation efforts by paramedics at Hadassah Mount Scopus Hospital, Levi was pronounced dead. The accident took place on Adoniyahu HaKohen Street in Jerusalem.

Levi's family announced his passing with deep sorrow, describing him as a talented and beloved man who brought joy through his music. They noted that he passed away prematurely on the eve of the Sabbath during the Torah portion Re'eh. His funeral is scheduled for midnight on Saturday night at the Spanish Funeral Home on Mount of Remembrance. The family will sit shiva at their home in Petah Tikva, with condolences accepted from the Levi, Botangeli, Cohen, and Lugasi families.
