Israeli Poet Avishai Levi Dies in Jerusalem Car Accident
Avishai Levi, a 46-year-old Israeli poet and singer, tragically died in a severe car accident in Jerusalem on Friday. The incident occurred on Adoniyahu HaKohen Street when Levi forgot to put his vehicle in park, exited the car, and the vehicle began to roll, crushing him. Emergency services received the call at 16:03 and rushed Levi to Hadassah Mount Scopus Hospital while performing CPR. Despite prolonged resuscitation efforts, medical teams declared him dead at the hospital. Eli Raymond, a paramedic from Magen David Adom's motorcycle unit, described finding Levi unconscious, pulseless, and with severe injuries, and noted the critical condition during transport and the life-saving attempts made.
