IDF Eliminates Hamas Sniper Unit Leader and Khan Yunis Brigade Commander
The Israeli military announced Thursday that it had eliminated Mu'amman Gabar Al-Sayyid Abu Labada, the leader of Hamas's sniper unit in the Rafah Brigade, in an airstrike in Khan Yunis. Intelligence indicated Abu Labada had been training snipers in Gaza with the intent of attacking Israeli civilians and IDF forces operating near the Gaza border. He was reportedly working to rebuild Hamas's military capabilities, violating the ceasefire agreement.
The strike on Abu Labada follows a separate overnight operation in which the IDF confirmed the elimination of Muhammad Yazouri, the commander of Hamas's Khan Yunis Brigade. Yazouri had previously held senior positions within the brigade, including deputy commander and head of intelligence. He was reportedly involved in advancing dozens of terror plots and restoring the brigade's strength after sustaining significant damage.
During the operation that killed Yazouri, several other senior Hamas operatives were also eliminated, including platoon commander Hudhaifa Ammar and operative Muhammad Bahjat Rachi. The IDF stated that forces in the Southern Command will continue to act decisively against any threats to Israel's security.
