IDF and Shin Bet Eliminate Hamas Khan Younis Brigade Commander
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the Shin Bet security agency announced Thursday the elimination of Muhammad Yazouri, the commander of Hamas's Khan Younis brigade in Gaza. Yazouri was killed in a precise strike in the Khan Younis area, along with two other operatives.
According to the joint statement, Yazouri was responsible for managing the brigade's operations and directing terror plots against Israeli forces and civilians. The IDF and Shin Bet stated that Yazouri had recently been advancing dozens of terror plans against IDF forces and was working to rebuild the Khan Younis brigade's strength, which had been severely impacted during the war.
Yazouri held several previous positions within the brigade, including deputy commander, commander of the combat support battalion, and head of intelligence. The two other operatives killed in the strike were identified as Hudhaifa Ammar, a company commander, and Muhammad Bahjat Rachi, another operative in the military wing.
The IDF and Shin Bet also commented on the deployment of IDF forces in the Southern Command, stating they would continue to operate in the area to remove any immediate threats.
