IDF and Shin Bet Eliminate Hamas Khan Younis Brigade Commander

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the Shin Bet security agency announced Thursday the elimination of Hamas's Khan Younis Brigade commander, Muhammad Yazouri, in a precise strike in the Khan Younis area of the Gaza Strip. Yazouri had held several senior positions within the brigade, including deputy commander, commander of the combat support battalion, and head of the brigade's intelligence department.

In his most recent role, Yazouri was responsible for directing the brigade's operatives and planning and executing terror attacks against IDF forces and Israeli civilians. The IDF stated that Yazouri had recently been working to advance dozens of terror plots against Israeli forces and was also attempting to rebuild the strength of the Khan Younis Brigade, which sustained significant damage during the war due to security operations.

Also eliminated in the same strike were Hudhayfah Ammar, a company commander in the Khan Younis Brigade, and Muhammad Bahjat Razi, another Hamas operative within the brigade. Security officials view Yazouri's elimination as another blow to Hamas's command structure in Khan Younis and to the organization's efforts to restore its operational capabilities in the area.
