IDF Confirms Eliminating Hamas Khan Yunis Brigade Commander
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the Shin Bet security agency have officially confirmed the precise airstrike in Khan Yunis that eliminated a senior Hamas commander, Muhammad Yazouri. Yazouri recently assumed command of Hamas's military wing in the Khan Yunis brigade and was reportedly working to rebuild the organization's strength in the southern Gaza Strip.
The strike, which occurred overnight between Thursday and Friday, also killed a company commander, Hudhaifa Ammar, and another operative, Muhammad Bahjat Rachi. Yazouri had held several previous senior positions within the brigade, including deputy commander, commander of the combat support battalion, and head of the brigade's intelligence department.
According to the IDF, Yazouri was responsible for managing terrorist activities, directing operatives, and executing terror plots against Israeli forces and civilians. In recent times, he had been involved in advancing dozens of terror plots and efforts to restore the brigade's capabilities after sustaining significant damage during the ongoing conflict.
The IDF stated that forces from the Southern Command are deployed in the area according to plan and will continue to operate decisively to remove any immediate threats. The military reiterated its commitment to dismantling threats posed by Hamas.
