IDF Eliminates Hamas Terrorist Involved in Deadly Attacks
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced Wednesday that security forces killed a Hamas operative in an airstrike in the Gaza Strip. The operative, Farah Hamad, was a member of Hamas's military wing and had previously served as a senior figure in the "West Bank headquarters" infrastructure. He was involved in advancing terror plots in Judea and Samaria in recent years and was part of the "Silwad cell," carrying out significant attacks in the Benjamin region that resulted in the deaths and injuries of Israeli civilians.
Hamad also participated in a shooting attack in Ein Yabrud in October 2003, which claimed the lives of three IDF soldiers: Sergeant Elad Pollak, Sergeant Ro'i Yaakov Solomon, and First Sergeant Erez Idan. The operation to eliminate Hamad was a joint effort involving the IDF, the Shin Bet security agency, and the Gideonim 33 unit of Lahav 433.
During the recent war, Hamad also engaged in combat against IDF forces. The IDF stated that his activities included promoting terror methods in Judea and Samaria over the years.
