IDF Eliminates Key Hamas Commanders in Gaza Targeted Operations

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Shin Bet announced two targeted killings in the Gaza Strip in recent days, aimed at neutralizing immediate threats to Israeli forces operating in the area. The first operation, conducted two days ago in northern Gaza, resulted in the death of Ahmed Yahya Ibrahim Batsh, the commander of a Nukhba unit within Hamas's military wing. Batsh was actively involved in orchestrating terror attacks against IDF forces throughout the ongoing conflict, including recent periods.

The second operation took place yesterday in southern Gaza, where the IDF killed Hamuda Abu Daka, the intelligence commander of Hamas's military intelligence unit. Abu Daka was responsible for gathering intelligence on IDF troop movements to facilitate terror attacks, posing a direct and immediate threat to Israeli forces.

The IDF emphasized that both individuals represented significant and direct dangers to troops in Gaza, justifying their elimination as part of ongoing efforts to remove immediate threats. These precise strikes were intelligence-driven and executed using the operational capabilities of both the IDF and Shin Bet.

IDF forces under the Southern Command remain deployed in the area according to existing agreements and continue regular operations to safeguard Israeli soldiers and civilians. These recent killings add to a series of similar operations targeting senior Hamas commanders and operatives, including the elimination of the Nukhba training commander responsible for preparing militants involved in the October 7 massacre.
