IDF Kills Hamas Terrorist Released in Gilad Shalit Deal
In a joint operation, Israel's security forces eliminated a senior Hamas terrorist, Farach Hamed, in a targeted airstrike in the Gaza Strip. Hamed was a member of the 'Silwad' cell responsible for numerous attacks in the Benjamin region that killed and injured Israeli civilians. He was involved in a 2003 shooting attack in Ein Yabrud where three soldiers were killed. Hamed was arrested in the past but was released to Gaza in 2011 as part of the Gilad Shalit prisoner exchange deal. Since his release, he continued to operate from Gaza, directing attacks in Judea and Samaria and engaging directly with Israeli forces.
