Israel Eliminates Hamas Terrorist Involved in Deadly Attacks

In a joint operation, Israeli security forces eliminated Farach Hamad, a Hamas terrorist responsible for numerous attacks that killed Israeli soldiers and civilians. The strike, an aerial attack conducted in the Gaza Strip on Wednesday, was carried out by the Shin Bet, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), and the Gideonim Unit 33 of Lahav 433.

Hamad previously served as a senior figure in the 'West Bank Headquarters' infrastructure and actively participated in combat against IDF forces during the recent war. In recent years, he advanced terror plans in the West Bank, having been part of the 'Silwad' cell for years. This cell executed several significant attacks in the Benjamin region, resulting in the deaths of Israeli civilians and injuries to others.

Notably, Hamad was involved in the October 2003 shooting attack in Ein Yabrud, which claimed the lives of three IDF soldiers: Sergeant Elad Pollak, Sergeant Roi Yaakov Solomon, and First Sergeant Erez Idan. Hamad was arrested and later released to the Gaza Strip in 2011 as part of the Gilad Shalit prisoner exchange deal. Since his release, he continued his affiliation with Hamas's military wing, focusing on recruiting and directing the organization to promote attacks in the West Bank.

Prior to the strike, measures were taken to minimize civilian casualties, including the use of precision munitions and aerial surveillance. The IDF, Shin Bet, and police stated they will continue to protect Israeli citizens and forces and neutralize threats in the region.
