Netanyahu Reserves Likud List Spot for Wounded Reservist Elisha Madan

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has allocated a reserved spot on the Likud party's electoral list to Elisha Madan, a reservist and co-founder of the Avigail settlement in the Southern Hebron Hills. Madan sustained severe injuries during combat in Beit Hanoun, northern Gaza, where four of his comrades were killed. The injuries resulted in the loss of both his legs.

Following an extensive rehabilitation period, Madan has emerged as a prominent symbol of recovery for wounded soldiers. This year, he was chosen to light a torch at the Independence Day ceremony, which focused on the theme of treatment and rehabilitation.

Madan's inclusion on the Likud list highlights the party's acknowledgment of his sacrifice and resilience, positioning him as a candidate with a compelling personal narrative.
