Wounded IDF Reservist Elisha Medan Joins Likud Party
Elisha Medan, a decorated IDF reservist who lost both legs and was critically wounded during an operation in Beit Hanoun in northern Gaza, has joined the Likud party, it was reported Tuesday. Four of his comrades were killed in the same incident.
Medan, also a co-founder of the Avigail settlement in the Hebron Hills, underwent a lengthy rehabilitation process. The Likud party stated that his recovery has become a symbol of strength, determination, and faith in life. "From the severe injury and the heavy price he paid with his body, Elisha chose to look forward, to continue to act, to strengthen, and to give hope to many Israelis," the party said in a statement.
The Likud added that Medan's personal story embodies the spirit of Israeli soldiers and the resilience of Israeli society in overcoming extreme challenges, rebuilding, and continuing to build. They highlighted his values of dedication, responsibility, love for the land, and camaraderie, noting that his journey from the battlefield to recovery is a testament to the Israeli spirit.
