IDF Veteran and Hostage Victim's Mother Join Likud Party List

Elisha Medan, a reserve soldier and co-founder of the Avigail settlement in the Hebron Hills, is set to join the Likud party's Knesset list as a reserved candidate. Medan was critically wounded during operational activity in Beit Hanoun in northern Gaza, an incident that resulted in the deaths of four fellow soldiers and the loss of both his legs. Following extensive rehabilitation, Medan became a symbol of resilience and determination, continuing to inspire many in Israeli society. He has previously been honored for his service, including lighting a torch at the national Independence Day ceremony for his healing and rehabilitation efforts. Medan brings a unique life story and values of dedication, responsibility, and patriotism to the Likud.

Additionally, Talik Guili, mother of fallen Border Police officer Sergeant Major Rani Guili, whose body was taken to Gaza, is also expected to join the Likud list. Rani Guili was killed on October 7th while fighting terrorists, having saved many lives despite being injured. His body was recovered and returned to Israel through Operation "Brave Heart." Talik and her family have demonstrated remarkable strength throughout this ordeal, honoring Rani's memory and promoting his values. She too was chosen to light an Independence Day torch, transforming her personal tragedy into a public mission. Guili is now transitioning from public advocacy to the political arena.
