Pro-Israel Group Demands Macklemore's Removal From Ed Sheeran Tour

The Israeli-American Council (IAC), representing over 150,000 members, has launched a petition demanding the immediate removal of rapper Macklemore from Ed Sheeran's international tour. The petition follows Macklemore's opening performance at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey over the weekend, where he expressed support for Palestinians, called for "Free Palestine," and performed his song "Hind's Hall" against a backdrop of images from Gaza and propaganda messages.

The IAC stated that Macklemore's actions crossed a clear red line, emphasizing that the event was a concert by Ed Sheeran, not a political rally or activist demonstration. The organization clarified that their protest is not against an artist's political views but against the exploitation of a major international stage to promote a one-sided agenda to an audience that paid for a musical performance.

The petition's initiators directly addressed Ed Sheeran and the event organizers, Live Nation, with a strong message: "Freedom of expression does not mean freedom from responsibility. Your show. Your stage. Your responsibility." Alongside the demand for Macklemore's removal from the remaining U.S. tour dates, the petition calls on Live Nation to establish clear boundaries to prevent the future use of concert stages as platforms for political propaganda.
