Israeli-American Group Demands Ed Sheeran Remove Macklemore Over Pro-Palestine Stance

The Israeli-American Community (IAC), representing over 150,000 Israeli-Americans, has launched a petition calling on British singer Ed Sheeran and the Loop Tour production to remove rapper Macklemore from the tour. The demand follows Macklemore's recent performance in New Jersey, where he reportedly chanted "Free Palestine," performed his song "Hind's Hall," and displayed images from Gaza to an audience of over 80,000.

The IAC argues that Macklemore exploited his opening act slot to promote an "anti-Israel" and "one-sided political agenda," presenting biased messages as facts to a concert audience. The organization emphasized that the event was a concert, not a political rally or activist gathering.

The petition specifically criticizes Macklemore's choice to perform "Hind's Hall," noting its connection to recent pro-Palestinian protests on U.S. college campuses, including the takeover of Columbia University's Hamilton Hall, which the IAC states involved illegal activities inconsistent with American values.

The IAC's petition urges Sheeran and the tour producers to distance Macklemore from remaining tour dates and establish clear boundaries for using performance platforms for political messaging. "Freedom of speech does not mean freedom from responsibility. Your show, your stage, your responsibility," the petition states.

In parallel, the IAC is encouraging the public to contact Live Nation, a major concert promoter, to demand action on the matter.
