Macklemore Uses Ed Sheeran Concert to Call for Palestine Liberation

American rapper Macklemore, known for his anti-Israel stances, used his opening slot at an Ed Sheeran concert in New Jersey on Friday to call for the "liberation of Palestine." Performing at MetLife Stadium, Macklemore addressed the crowd, stating that if he allowed fear to prevent him from speaking his mind, he would no longer need to be on stage. He then extended his call to include Cuba, Congo, Sudan, and Iran, and also criticized the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Following his speech, Macklemore performed a song titled "Hind's Hall." The song is named after Hind Rajab, a Palestinian child killed during the "Swords of Iron" war, and a building at Columbia University occupied by students. During the performance, images and videos from Gaza and protests against Israel were displayed on screens behind him. Many in the audience reportedly responded with applause to his statements.

Macklemore is scheduled to open for Sheeran at another concert on Saturday. Ed Sheeran's representatives have not yet issued a comment regarding Macklemore's remarks.
