Hezbollah Launches Explosive Drones at IDF Troops; Israel Strikes Southern Lebanon

The Israeli military reported on Sunday that Hezbollah militants launched two explosive drones targeting IDF forces operating in the security zone in southern Lebanon. One of the drones was successfully intercepted by soldiers, and no Israeli casualties were reported. The IDF spokesperson condemned the act as a blatant violation by the Hezbollah terror organization.

In response to the drone attack, the IDF conducted retaliatory strikes against terror targets in southern Lebanon. The military stated its forces will continue to operate in the security zone to neutralize threats to Israeli civilians and soldiers, vowing to act forcefully against repeated Hezbollah attempts to harm Israeli forces.

This incident follows a similar event last week, where the IDF attacked Hezbollah infrastructure in the Nabatieh area of southern Lebanon. That strike was in retaliation for a comparable terror attempt involving two explosive drones aimed at IDF forces near the Ali Taher ridge, one of which was intercepted.

Defense Minister Israel Katz recently declared that the IDF had completed its consolidation in the security zone in southern Lebanon, following the capture of the strategic Ali Taher ridge. He emphasized that Israel would not withdraw from the zone until Hezbollah is disarmed throughout Lebanon and threats to residents of northern Israel are removed.
