Hezbollah Launches Drone Attack; IDF Responds, Conducts Readiness Drill
Hezbollah launched two explosive-laden drones toward Israeli forces in southern Lebanon on Sunday morning. Israeli soldiers fired at one of the drones and intercepted it. No Israeli soldiers were injured in the incident. In response, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) conducted airstrikes in the area.
Separately, the IDF's Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Aviv Kochavi, ordered a surprise readiness drill early Sunday morning. The exercise, codenamed "Dawn's Cost 2.0," tested the preparedness of the General Staff and main commands to handle a complex, multi-front, rapidly escalating event. As part of the drill, commanders across all regional commands, directorates, and branches were mobilized, along with reserve forces, to assess readiness and capabilities. The Chief of Staff observed the exercise from the IDF's command center and in the field.
