Hezbollah Drone Attack Foiled; IDF Strikes Targets in Southern Lebanon

The Israeli military (IDF) reported thwarting an attack early Thursday morning when two explosive-laden drones were launched by Hezbollah towards IDF forces operating in the Ali Taher ridge area of southern Lebanon. One of the drones was successfully intercepted by soldiers, and no Israeli casualties were reported.

In response to the drone incident, the IDF conducted retaliatory strikes overnight against Hezbollah infrastructure in the Nabatieh region of southern Lebanon. The targeted infrastructure was identified as facilities used by the terror organization to plan and direct attacks against Israeli forces and civilians.

The IDF stated that the strikes were carried out to neutralize an immediate threat and reiterated its commitment to operating in the area and preventing Hezbollah from carrying out terror attacks. This action underscores the IDF's policy of immediate response to any attempted harm against its forces.

Earlier in the morning, the IDF announced that air raid sirens in northern Israel, which were activated overnight due to a suspected hostile aircraft infiltration from Lebanon, were likely triggered by a false alarm. Interceptor missiles were fired towards a suspicious aerial target that appeared to cross from Lebanon into Israeli territory, but initial investigations suggest it was a false alarm.

These incidents are part of ongoing violations of agreements between Israel and Lebanon, reflecting Hezbollah's persistent attempts to harm Israeli forces and civilians despite international efforts to maintain regional stability. The IDF has stated it will continue to act forcefully against repeated attempts by Hezbollah to attack its forces.
