Northern Israel Air Raid Sirens Sound for First Time Since July Amid Drone Threat

Air raid sirens were activated in the "Finger of the Galilee" region of northern Israel on Wednesday night, the first such alert in the area since July, due to a suspected drone infiltration from Lebanon. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched interceptors toward the suspicious aerial target, which apparently crossed from Lebanese territory. No injuries were reported.

The alerts were heard in Moshav Goshirim, Kibbutz Ma'ayan Baruch, and Kibbutz Kfar Yuval. Shortly after the sirens, the Home Front Command announced the end of the incident and that residents could leave protected areas. An IDF spokesperson confirmed that interceptors were fired at a suspected hostile aircraft that likely crossed from Lebanon. The results of the interception are under review, and no casualties occurred. Rocket and missile alerts were subsequently triggered due to the interception attempts.

Concurrently, Lebanese media reported Israeli airstrikes in the area of Ali al-Tahir in southern Lebanon. The IDF's 91st Division has been expanding its operational activities in southern Lebanon, aiming to clear the area of threats and dismantle Hezbollah's military infrastructure. During these operations, combat teams from Brigades 769, 4, and 55 located and neutralized intelligence and combat infrastructure.

Searches uncovered caches of weapons and military equipment used by Hezbollah operatives. Seized items included guided anti-tank missiles, rocket launchers, explosive charges, grenades, Kalashnikov rifles, and personal equipment such as vests, uniforms, and helmets.
