Hezbollah Drone Attack on Northern Israel Follows Iranian Coordination

Hezbollah launched a drone towards northern Israel overnight, marking the first such incident in two months. The Israeli military believes the attack was coordinated with and approved by Iran, aiming to escalate tensions along the northern border and provoke a significant Israeli response. The move is seen as an attempt to force the IDF to halt its military operations on the Ali Taher ridge in southern Lebanon, particularly as it approaches a decisive phase against Hezbollah's "Badr" tunnel network.

Around 5:00 AM, air defense systems intercepted a suspected aerial target that crossed from Lebanese territory. The results of the interception are under review, and no casualties were reported. Rocket and missile alerts were activated as a consequence of the interception attempts themselves.

The incident occurs amidst ongoing operations by the Golani Brigade in southern Lebanon. The IDF is reportedly nearing a decisive breakthrough against Hezbollah's hidden tunnels and bunkers in the region, an effort Iran is allegedly trying to thwart through escalation.
