Hezbollah Drones Target IDF Troops in Southern Lebanon; Israel Strikes Back

Two explosive drones launched by Hezbollah targeted Israeli forces operating in the security zone of southern Lebanon on Tuesday morning. Israeli soldiers fired at one of the drones, successfully intercepting it, with no casualties reported among the IDF troops. In response to what the IDF described as a blatant violation by the terrorist organization, Israeli forces launched retaliatory strikes in southern Lebanon.

The IDF stated that its forces will continue to operate in the area to neutralize any threats and will act forcefully against Hezbollah's repeated attempts to harm Israeli soldiers. Prior to the strikes, the IDF issued an evacuation warning to residents of the village of Arab Salim in southern Lebanon, instructing them and those in the vicinity of a targeted Hezbollah facility to evacuate and move at least 300 meters away.

This escalation follows a similar incident last Friday, when the Israeli Air Force struck weapons storage facilities intended for Hezbollah operatives to plan and direct terror attacks against IDF forces in the security zone and Israeli civilians. Those strikes were carried out to neutralize an immediate threat.

The current strikes were a direct response to Hezbollah's attempted operation on Monday against IDF forces in the security zone, during which a drone was launched toward the troops. No Israeli soldiers were injured in that incident either. The IDF spokesperson's unit declared, "The IDF will not allow the Hezbollah terrorist organization to harm Israeli citizens and its forces, and will continue to act to remove threats and remain committed to the ceasefire agreement."
