Israel Strikes Lebanon for Hours in Response to Hezbollah Drone Attack

The Israeli military (IDF) conducted airstrikes in multiple locations across Lebanon for several hours on Friday evening, responding to a Hezbollah drone attack. The strikes began around 7 p.m. when a drone launched a missile, destroying a motorcycle near the southern Lebanese village of Rumman. The attack reportedly killed the rider and a passenger. Approximately 90 minutes later, reports emerged of strikes in the towns of Ramadiya and Fouka, as well as in Nabatieh and other incidents in the Al-Tahir mountain range.

Further strikes occurred around 10:30 p.m. near the village of Ain al-Tine in the western Bekaa Valley, about 20 kilometers from the Israeli border. The IDF stated that the strikes were a response to a "violation of the ceasefire by Hezbollah." According to the IDF, Hezbollah militants launched a drone towards an Israeli military position in the buffer zone earlier that evening. Israeli forces fired on the drone and shot it down, with no casualties reported. The IDF declared it would "continue to take decisive action in response to repeated attempts by Hezbollah to harm our forces."
