IDF Strikes Targets in Lebanon After Hezbollah Drone Attack
The Israeli military (IDF) launched strikes on targets in southern Lebanon on Sunday, September 6, in response to an attempted attack by Hezbollah.
Hezbollah militants launched two attack drones toward IDF soldiers operating in the security zone in southern Lebanon. The IDF reported that one of the drones was intercepted by soldiers' fire, and no Israeli personnel were harmed.
The IDF characterized the drone launch as a "gross violation" and stated that it was responding with strikes against targets in southern Lebanon. Lebanese sources reported that Israeli Air Force aircraft struck targets in the village of Arab Salim, near Nabatieh.
Prior to the strikes, the IDF's Arabic-language press service had urged residents to evacuate a building and move at least 300 meters away from it.
The IDF declared its intention to continue operating in the security zone to neutralize threats to soldiers and Israeli citizens, vowing a strong response to any further Hezbollah attempts to attack Israeli forces.
