Israeli Drone Strike Hits Car in Southern Lebanon, Causing Injuries

An Israeli drone strike targeted a car near the Fakhr al-Din parking lot in Nabatieh, southern Lebanon, on Sunday, resulting in casualties, according to the National News Agency of Lebanon. The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced Sunday that the total number of casualties from Israeli aggression on Lebanon has risen to 4,362 killed and 12,378 wounded since March 2nd, with 4 killed and 19 wounded in the past 24 hours. The ministry stated that the cumulative toll of the aggression from March 2nd to September 6th reached 4,362 martyrs and 12,378 wounded. This brings the overall total of casualties since October 8th, 2023, to 8,929 killed and 30,614 wounded.

The Israeli military has intensified its shelling of areas in southern Lebanon in recent days, reportedly in response to what it described as the downing of a drone by Hezbollah elements targeting Israeli forces in the "security zone" in the country's south. Israeli raids on southern Lebanon continue despite a US-brokered agreement signed on June 26th, 2026, which stipulates a gradual Israeli withdrawal in exchange for the deployment of the Lebanese army. Israel occupies areas in southern Lebanon, some for decades and others since the 2023-2024 war, expanding its occupation within Lebanese territory during its current aggression.
