Israel Vows Devastating Response to Any Iranian Attack

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz declared on Thursday that Israel would respond to any Iranian attack with a wide-ranging strike on Iranian infrastructure, including energy facilities. He asserted that such an attack would "free Israel from all existing constraints" in its dealings with Iran. Katz made these remarks during a ceremony at the Ministry of Defense headquarters ahead of the Jewish New Year.

He further stated that Israel would target all national, military, and civilian infrastructure in Iran, including energy facilities, adding that the Israeli response would return Iran to the "Stone Age and darkness." The defense minister claimed the Iranian regime is well aware of why it has not attacked Israel, citing strong Israeli strikes that have destroyed Iran's nuclear program, assassinated Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, and severely damaged its strategic capabilities.

Katz highlighted that Israel is monitoring indicators of severe economic pressure on the Iranian regime, alongside its fears of popular protests and potential collapse. He suggested these circumstances might drive Tehran to take "desperate steps." The defense minister concluded by emphasizing Israel's readiness, both defensively and offensively, to handle any scenario, stressing that the Israel Defense Forces are prepared for the mission.
