Israel Ready for Massive Retaliation if Iran Attacks, Defense Minister Says
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz stated that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are prepared for a potential attack from Iran and will deliver a powerful retaliatory strike if targeted. Katz noted that while strikes are currently occurring in the region, Israel has not yet been attacked.
He expressed concern that Iran might attempt an attack during the upcoming Jewish holidays, which begin in mid-September. "At the moment, strikes are being carried out throughout the region, except for us," Katz said at a conference organized by Ynet and Yedioth Ahronoth. "But there is a possibility they will attack us. We are ready for this defensively."
Katz emphasized that Israel's response would be independent of other nations' actions. "If Iran attacks, Israel will respond with enormous force, regardless of anyone else," he asserted. The minister also confirmed the readiness of the Israeli Air Force, stating, "Our planes are ready for takeoff."
