Israel Vows Devastating Response to Any Iranian Attack
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz declared on Thursday that if Iran attacks Israel, the Israeli response will be severe and target Iran's national infrastructure, including its energy sector. Speaking at a Rosh Hashanah toast with Ministry of Defense employees, Katz stated that such an attack would "release Israel from any existing limitation" in striking Iran. He vowed to "hit all national, military, and civilian infrastructures in Iran, including energy infrastructures, and return Iran deep into the Stone Age and darkness."
Katz suggested that Iran's current economic pressures and fears of internal unrest and regime collapse might push them towards "desperate measures." He also referenced past Israeli actions, stating that the "Ayatollah regime in Iran knows very well why it has not attacked Israel" after being struck twice, having their nuclear program destroyed, their leader (referring to Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, though the current leader is Ali Khamenei) eliminated, and their strategic capabilities severely damaged.
The Defense Minister assured that Israel is well-prepared for defense and offense, and that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are ready for any mission. He made these remarks alongside Ministry of Defense Director General, Maj. Gen. (res.) Amir Baram.
