Israel's National Cyber Directorate has clarified that the temporary shutdown of some desalination plants was not caused by a cyberattack. Reports had indicated a halt in operations at certain facilities.
The Directorate explained that unusual turbidity in the seawater, attributed to weather conditions, led to the temporary suspension of activities. This natural phenomenon, rather than a malicious digital intrusion, was the reason for the disruption.
The Water Authority stated that they had prepared for all scenarios and closely monitored water quality indicators throughout the event. They assured that measures were in place to manage the situation.
