Tel Aviv's KKL Bridge Closes for Two Weeks of Major Safety Repairs

Starting the night of Saturday, August 15, the KKL Bridge in Tel Aviv will be closed to traffic for two weeks to undergo extensive maintenance and safety upgrades. The closure is organized by the Ministry of Transport and Tel Aviv Municipality through Netivei Ayalon and will be implemented in two main phases.

The first phase runs from 11:30 p.m. on August 15 until 6:00 a.m. on August 21, during which west-to-east traffic on the bridge will be blocked to allow for joint and structural repairs. Drivers from Ayalon South will not be able to turn left onto the bridge but can turn right onto KKL Boulevard as usual. Access to Highway 20 southbound from the KKL interchange remains open. Pedestrian access will be maintained on the northern side of the bridge.

The second phase begins at 11:30 p.m. on August 22 and continues until 6:00 a.m. on August 28, when east-to-west traffic will be blocked. Detailed traffic arrangements for this phase will be announced closer to the date. Throughout the work, Ayalon Highway lanes will remain open, but significant traffic congestion is expected in the area.

Public transportation routes and stops near the bridge will also be adjusted during the repairs. Traffic supervisors and the Israel Police will coordinate to manage the changes.
