Two-Week Traffic Disruptions Begin at KKL Bridge in Tel Aviv Starting August 15

Starting Saturday night, August 15, significant traffic disruptions will occur at the KKL Bridge in Tel Aviv-Jaffa due to essential maintenance and safety work. The project will last two weeks, with alternating closures of the bridge's traffic lanes in both directions. The first phase, from August 15 at 23:30 until August 21 at 06:00, will close west-to-east lanes for joint replacement work. During this period, access to Route 20 southbound from the KKL interchange remains open, and certain turns from Ayalon South and North will be restricted or allowed accordingly. Pedestrian access on the northern part of the bridge will be maintained.

The second phase will start on August 22 at 23:30 and continue until August 28 at 06:00, closing the east-to-west lanes. Detailed traffic arrangements for this phase will be announced closer to the date. Despite these closures, the main Ayalon Highway (Route 20) will stay open throughout the maintenance. However, heavy traffic congestion is expected near the interchange, and drivers are advised to plan alternative routes.

Public transportation routes and stops in the affected area will also be modified during the works. The maintenance is coordinated by the Ministry of Transportation and Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality through Netivei Ayalon, with traffic supervisors and the Israel Police overseeing the operation. Drivers are urged to check traffic updates before traveling to minimize delays.
