Tel Aviv Kakol Bridge Lanes Close for Two Weeks of Repairs Starting August 15

Starting Saturday night, August 15 at 23:30, Tel Aviv's Kakol Bridge will undergo two weeks of rehabilitation and safety work, causing lane closures and traffic changes. The project will be carried out in two stages, each lasting about a week, with traffic lanes closed alternately in each direction. The first stage runs until Friday, August 21 at 06:00, during which west-to-east lanes on the bridge will be closed. Left turns from Ayalon South exit toward the bridge will be prohibited, while right turns onto Kakol Boulevard will remain open. Traffic on Ayalon Highway (Route 20) will remain open throughout, including southbound entry from the Kakol interchange. Pedestrian access will be maintained on the northern part of the bridge.

The works involve replacing the bridge's expansion joints as part of comprehensive maintenance, supervised by traffic inspectors and coordinated with the Israel Police. Drivers are warned to expect heavy congestion and advised to plan alternate routes using navigation apps like Waze. Public transportation routes and stops will also be affected, with updated information available via the "Kol Kav" hotline at *8787.

The second stage will begin on Saturday night, August 22 at 23:30 and continue until Friday, August 28 at 06:00, closing lanes in the opposite direction (east-to-west). Detailed traffic arrangements for this phase will be announced before the work starts.
