KKL Bridge in North Tel Aviv to Close for Two Weeks Starting August 15 for Safety Upgrades

The KKL Bridge in northern Tel Aviv will be closed to traffic for two weeks from the night of Saturday, August 15, until August 28. The closure is part of rehabilitation and safety improvement works coordinated by the Ministry of Transport, Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality, and Netivei Ayalon company. Netivei Ayalon noted that the timing was chosen to coincide with the typically quieter traffic period at the end of August.

The works will be carried out in two phases. The first phase runs from 11:30 p.m. on August 15 until 6:00 a.m. on August 22, during which west-to-east travel lanes on the bridge will be closed, and left turns from Ayalon South exit will be prohibited. The second phase will take place from 11:30 p.m. on August 22 until 6:00 a.m. on August 28, closing the lanes in the opposite direction. Despite the bridge closures, the Ayalon Highway lanes underneath will remain open throughout the works.

Public transportation routes will be altered, and several bus stops will be temporarily canceled. Travelers are advised to check details via the "Kol Kav" hotline (8787*). Map applications have been updated to reflect the closures. The works will be supervised by traffic inspectors and coordinated with the Israel Police. Additionally, on the night between Tuesday and Wednesday, August 11-12, from 1:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m., the northbound ramp from Highway 4 to Ganot Interchange and the southbound ramp from Highway 4 to Highway 1 eastbound will be closed for maintenance.
