Israeli Court Charges Suspects with Murder in Jerusalem Killing of Benyahu Razi

The Jerusalem District Attorney's Office filed serious murder and aggravated assault charges against suspects involved in the killing of Benyahu Razi in the Nahalat neighborhood of Jerusalem. The Jerusalem Magistrate's Court recently extended the detention of three suspects, Agam Tzarfati, Shilat Huta, and Linor Sasson, until Friday, when formal indictments will be submitted. The court accepted the police's request, citing the suspects' significant danger to the public. During the detention extension hearing, family members of the victim shouted at the main suspect, Aviaor Sasson, as he was brought in by investigators. Aviaor Sasson was apprehended last week after a lengthy police chase.

Defense attorneys Idan Gamlielli and Ofer Erlich, representing one of the minors accused, expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy and denied their client's direct involvement in Razi's death. The victim's family demanded full accountability for all involved, insisting they should remain imprisoned indefinitely. They emphasized the importance of attending court despite the emotional difficulty, stating their pursuit of justice.

During the hearing, Agam Tzarfati's lawyer presented WhatsApp messages allegedly showing threats from Benyahu Razi, including accusations of rape threats and death threats toward Tzarfati and her family. These messages were submitted as part of the defense's case. The investigation highlights the violent nature of the incident, which involved weapons such as knives and clubs.
